All I know is that synaptic shows me the latest iceweasel as 31.5.3 while
firefox is at 36.0.4, or five major versions more recent...
Another is that I am informed immediately when a new version of firefox comes
out, and so can install it immediately; and this without having to wonder,
every day, whether some new version has come out and should be looked for.
When using SolydX I had an applet in the panel that warned me when upgrades
were available, but I have found nothing similar in Debian.
Cheers,
Ron.
