Hello Hans.

With 'ifconfig eth0' i can see the card, and with 'ifconfig eth0 up' i can bring eth0 up, but it's still not reachable and the output from 'ethtool eth0' is the same as before: ..., Speed: Unknown, Duplex: Unknown,..., Link detected: no. The irq is noted in /proc/irq after 'ifconfig eth0 up'.

No, it`s the only one.
:~# cat /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net
# PCI device 0x10de:/sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:14.0 (forcedeth)
SUBSYSTEM=="net", ACTION=="add", DRIVERS=="?*", ATTR{address}=="00:13:8f:6c:67:24", ATTR{dev_id}=="0x0", ATTR{type}=="1", KERNEL=="eth*", NAME="eth0"

This is the only entry here.

I probed a Realtek card as eth1, but i removed it from the pci slot. With the realtek card there was in dmesg: '[ 1.345117] forcedeth 0000:00:14.0: ifname eth1, PHY OUI 0x732 @ 1, addr 00:13:8f:6c:67:24' for Nvidia MCP51, but with ifconfig nvidia was eth0 and realtek was eth1.

bye
