The nForce2 chipset requires a binary-only driver from nVidia. You need to modify a boot floppy and add the module.

If you have access to another Linux box, you can do it there. Google around for details, but basically you get and comp[ile a custom kerne/modules, mount the floppy image file and then write your new kenrel and modules to it.
