I had the same issue recently running sid. I don't run Xfce, but have
xfce4-power-manager in my ~/.xsession.

I am afraid that systemd might actually be responsible since I use it as
well. The bad news is that I don't really know how I solved it. It went
away temporarily after a reboot and I haven't seen it for some time. I
only sometimes notice that xfce4-power-manager has crashed.
