It doesn't _have_ to be metallic - a small dish shaped "thing" in any material that isn't actually RF lossy may show some focussing effect. It also doesn't have to be solid - for some RF frequencies, chicken wire with big air holes in it will also work correctly. Two biscuit tin lids will make a "good enough" corner reflector.
