All of your points IMO are "true". Nobody, neither me, mentions that currently it is impossible to use udev without caring (too much) about systemd. IIUC Reco likes systmed. I dislike it, but seriously used it for moire then a year for my everyday Linux, however, Reco and I seem to agree, that merging the sources comes with some drawbacks by nature. It doesn't matter if we like systemd or if we dislike it.
