That could be the case. I just installed also rkhunter and ran that and it found
no Suckit rootkit so that was encouraging. There were however a couple of 
warnings
from rkhunter: 

Warning: Hidden directory found: '/etc/.java'
Warning: Hidden file found: /etc/.fstab: ASCII text

How does one reveal a hidden file and directory?
