That was my first thought, but the disc appears to have booted, which I
don't think should happen if the iso was copied as a file.

Of course, everything is getting cleverer, so I can't say this for
sure. Presumably copying to a blank disc would install a filesystem,
but would it also tack on a generic bootloader, 'just in case'? I
wouldn't bet money against it.
