Set up an i386 chroot and run your ancient firefox from there. >> The error message from bash is... unfortunate, to say the least. It can't do any better though, because the kernel just reports ENOENT when you try to run a program and its ELF interpreter (/lib/ld-linux.so.2 in case of i386 binaries) is missing. See execve(2).
