The Wheezy 7 debian-installer will do the right thing with respect to alignment on SSDs. It will start at 2048. So for Debian Wheezy 7 there is no need to do anything special outside of the installer. Older versions of the installer will partition starting at 63 which isn't aligned. For an SSD use a Wheezy 7 installer or later. Bob
