Is it a 32-bit or 64-bit CPU? How old is it? Debian does compile for 32-bit architecture, for very old machines, so the 32-bit architecture might not be optimized to "modern" 32-bit CPUs. Some other distros ignore old hardware and compile for more recent 32-bit CPUs, so that the software won't work on very old hardware. For 64-bit architecture the difference between distros isn't that large. If hardware optimization does matter, depends to the task. AFAIK, regarding to the used math, the audio quality could differ.
