I presume that means you did have deb-multimedia enabled. There are several ways to do that (remove all from a certain repository) - the method I use to remove all those packages from that repository (until I find a more efficient way) is:- 1. remove entry for given repository (e.g. deb-multimedia) in sources lists 2. # apt-get update 3. # for i in `apt-show-versions | grep 'No available' | cut -d' ' -f 1` ;do apt-get remove -y $i ; done You can re-install them later taking care not to break the main system, but first remove them. When you remove them you'll get lots of "run apt-get autoremove" type messages. You can ignore those messages.
