You didn't say what window manager you are using. And you said Squeeze so nothing should be changing there. Control-A is the Windows world's way of selecting all. You said all of your icons highlighted. That tells me that it is doing the Windows UI method of selecting all. That definitely isn't your shortcut. I might suggest using Alt and a key for the shortcut rather than Control-A which seems to be overloaded enough already. I would try a different shortcut that isn't one of the Windows keys and see if it is related or not. Otherwise I don't know. Bob
