Yes, good point. I started with SuSE in 1999, switched to Debian around 2001/2002, then had a spell with Slackware, then Ubuntu, and back to Debian - whilst trying out Fedora, Arch and Mint at times - and Debian is the best fit for me, but I wouldn't state any distro is categorically 'best'. I only stated Mint as it's easy to install, polished, supports loads of hardware, and *probably* a good fit for a beginner (although if someone said 'no, Fuduntu is best for someone starting out!'
