Firefox sometimes is a PITA.A long time ago I had to delete the config for Firefox in home, to get rid of this.
I would try 1. $ kill all -9 -w iceweasel 2. $ mv ~/.chache ~/.chache.bak 3.$ mv ~/.mozilla/firefox ~/.mozilla/firefox.bak or iceweasel or what ever it's named
