What sound device do you use? The best value is 2, just some sound
devices, usually on-board devices need 3. This is not related to your
issue, but if possible decrease it and increase the samples/period value,
if needed.
A latency of 4 ms (in + out) is a very low value, it's very likely that
you get xruns. OTOH audible xruns most of the times are shown by QjackCtl,
even inaudible xruns often are shown.
