Seriously: I like the GUI synaptic. On command line I use apt and dpkg.
There's also aptitude, but I seldom used it.
A joke: If you're really tough, as desktop environment use
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unity_(user_interface). I guess it's not
available for Debian yet. Unity is a PITA.
