This is generally not necessary, unless you want to _restrict_ the architectures for which APT checks on this mirror, i.e. if you want to cross-compile armel, hence add it as a foreign architecture, but don’t want apt-get to check http://deb.opera.com/opera/ on every update for an armel package.
