You probably need xserver-xorg-video-nvidia (as in addition to the NVIDIA kernel driver, you need the NVIDIA Xorg driver). But when I was using the NVIDIA drivers in the past, I installed nvidia-glx, which depends on xserver-xorg-video-nvidia and other useful packages.
