Installing Squeeze shouldn't be much problematic given the computer is ~3/4years old and there's still the bakported packages, should needed. OTOH, Debian 6 has (more or less) one year and a half of support (when Wheezy is out -and that should happen around February, 2013- Squeeze will become then the "oldstable" and will receive security fixes and patches until Jessie comes to play or a year later).
