I've seen it, but it's an undidactic game, even for non-verbal thinking people. I recommend mnemonics, e.g. by thought painting own pictures and then to link them with vim options instead. Or simply, learning by doing, as someone else already pointed out. My problem is, that I seldom need an editor without a GUI, so I usually use GUI editors. Perhaps I should use vim more often.
