Hi Debianologists,
This scanner is supposed to be fully supported by SANE.
When I plug it in, dmesg shows:
[460008.108261] usb 1-1.2: new full-speed USB device number 26 using ehci_hcd
[460008.202148] usb 1-1.2: New USB device found, idVendor=04b8, idProduct=010b

[460008.202163] usb 1-1.2: Manufacturer: EPSON
lsusb returns:
Bus 001 Device 026: ID 04b8:010b Seiko Epson Corp. Perfection 1240
But scanimage --list-devices only show my notebook camera.
The notebook is a Lenovo T410. My kernel is recent 3.2 stock kernel.
Any ideas what to try?
Here are all the sane packages I've installed.
I guess that I am missing the correct backend.
Or possibly, udev is not creating the USB device.

Do you know for a fact that the scanner is working? I have USB devices
that show up in lsusb that don't work. My Epson scanner just works. It's
recognized the minute I turn it on.
