Nevermind :) Found the backups in /var/lib/gdm3
Didn't realize that's where GDM would put them.
A GDM script can't put ~/.thunderbird.backup in /var/lib/gdm3, since the
path ~/ belongs to /home/user_account, resp. /root. You must have done
something wrong.
sid:/var/lib/gdm3#
ls -a . .dbus .gconf.path .pulse ..
.gconf gschemas.compiled .pulse-cookie .cache .gconfd
.ICEauthority Seat1 .config .gconf.mandatory .local
thunderbird.backup
sid:/var/lib/gdm3#
As you can see, the back-up is there. And I just checked again by
exiting the WM and it's the correct date/time
When I added that line to the Default script I assumed they would go
into my home dir. I dunno.
