Not me, but I strongly suggest you don't do major upgrades with synaptic. Instead use apt-get or aptitude, preferably from a console (or GNU screen if you really prefer to use some xterm). It's generally recommended to do an upgrade/safe-upgrade before the dist-upgrade/full-upgrade. If you encounter any troubles post the full output of the last command and the output of 'apt-cache policy'.
