Audible's books are fully DRM encumbered. The "solution" is to download the book into a Windows (or Mac?) system running iTunes, burn it to a series of RW CDs, and then rip the audio from those back into a non-DRM based system. (Actually, I've got a soft-CD for my one Windows box that emulates a CD writer well enough to fool iTunes. But the principle's the same.) It's a right pain.
