Hi, since last time I
cp /etc/passwd passwd.old Later used vipw deleted one un-existed user entry. I thought something wrong, so I mv passwd, old passwd back. Anyway, later I use vipw again deleted that entry. But the problem showed up: for user lina, I can login, no problem, but once the screensaver (xfce4) worked, the password not worked anymore. use Alt+Ctr+F1 login as lina works. part of the /var/log/auth.log as following: Mar 9 20:54:32 Debian xscreensaver[4733]: FAILED LOGIN 2 ON DISPLAY ":0", FOR "lina" Mar 9 20:54:35 Debian unix_chkpwd[6032]: check pass; user unknown Mar 9 20:54:46 Debian unix_chkpwd[6033]: check pass; user unknown Mar 9 20:54:46 Debian unix_chkpwd[6033]: password check failed for user (lina) Mar 9 20:54:46 Debian xscreensaver[4733]: pam_unix(xscreensaver:auth): authentication failure; logname= uid=1000 euid=1000 tty=:0.0 ruser= rhost= user=lina Mar 9 20:54:48 Debian xscreensaver[4733]: FAILED LOGIN 3 ON DISPLAY ":0", FOR "lina" Mar 9 20:54:51 Debian unix_chkpwd[6034]: check pass; user unknown Mar 9 20:55:11 Debian login[2558]: pam_unix(login:session): session opened for user lina by LOGIN(uid=0) Mar 9 20:55:27 Debian xscreensaver[4733]: pam_unix(xscreensaver:auth): conversation failed Mar 9 20:55:27 Debian xscreensaver[4733]: pam_unix(xscreensaver:auth): auth could not identify password for [lina] Mar 9 20:55:51 Debian su[4809]: pam_unix(su:session): session closed for user root Mar 9 20:56:06 Debian su[6354]: Successful su for root by lina Mar 9 20:56:06 Debian su[6354]: + /dev/tty2 lina:root Mar 9 20:56:06 Debian su[6354]: pam_unix(su:session): session opened for user root by LOGIN(uid=1000) Mar 9 20:56:13 Debian su[6354]: pam_unix(su:session): session closed for user root Form http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=466741 I couldn't find the libpam-foreground package. The only way I can do is that in the screensaver parts, reboot. I also did some update recently, don't know which parts went wrong, Thanks ahead for any suggestions, Best regards, -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
