You can also delay the kernel boot messages by appending "boot_delay=miliseconds" at GRUB's kernel line. How about dmesg? > Works in Wheezy. Yup, it also works here (wheezy). But IIRC, bootlogd fails at a random basis (works on some systems, it doesn't work on others).
