Hi Folks,

My son runs Debian (Squeeze) on a relatively ancient Gateway Laptop - and all was copacetic until he did a recent apt-get update/upgrade/autoremove.

Suddenly:
- wireless isn't working
- the network-admin tool does not show a "connections" tab
- iwconfig shows "no wireless extensions"

All my Debian experience involves running servers with wired ethernet connections and static configs, and command line tools. I've dealt with enough hotplug and udev issues and such, but wireless configuration, and the associated tools and configs, is a new one on me.

Any suggestions on where to start?

Thanks much,

Miles Fidelman
