How do I remember quite some of this and other points from this thread from the introduction of KDE 4! I do not use GNOME, did not even test GNOME 3.0 yet, but I think that with KDE 4.6.5, I did not yet test 4.7, its not packaged for Debian officially yet, it has gone a long way since KDE 4. And it is likely that GNOME 3.2, 3.4, 3.6, 3.8 will go a long way from GNOME 3.0.
