Normally typing 'vlc' just brings up the interface, so why it is looking for a device is a mystery to me. Anyway, now vlc is there you'll want to go to the Disc device section from Media/Open Disc... and give it something like /dev/cdrom or /dev/srX (x=1,2...), The configuration file for vlc is in ~/.config or you could set a default other than /dev/dvd in the Input & Codecs section of the Preferences menu. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-user-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
