I just did a reinstall & this is my sources.list: # deb cdrom:[Debian GNU/Linux 6.0.2.1 _Squeeze_ - Official amd64 DVD Binary-1 20110626-16:33]/ squeeze contrib main # deb cdrom:[Debian GNU/Linux 6.0.2.1 _Squeeze_ - Official amd64 DVD Binary-1 20110626-16:33]/ squeeze contrib main deb http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ squeeze main contrib non-free deb http://security.debian.org/ squeeze/updates main contrib non-free # squeeze-updates, previously known as 'volatile' deb http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ squeeze-updates main contrib deb-src http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ squeeze-updates main contrib deb http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ squeeze-proposed-updates contrib non-free main I left the cdrom stuff just in case I need to use them again. Eventually you can erase them. I also use synaptic to manage my systems & you can change the sources.list easily from there, using the repositories functions. best wishes. -- John W.
