For 1280x1024: GRUB_GFXMODE=1280x1024 and GRUB_GFXPAYLOAD_LINUX=1280x1024 (although AFAIR 791==1024x768) For vbeinfo: Press "c" at the grub menu -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
