Being used to yum I like there way better. ;-)
I'm a terminal emulation user, I e.g. prefer cd, ls etc. to file managers, but IMO Synaptic, a GUI for the package management, often has a lot of advantages, e.g. a history, searches and package descriptions by mouse etc..
