In several years of running Debian and other distros I have just once encountered the problem of a hard lock-up under network load. I solved the problem by swapping the network card with another. Since you are experiencing the problem after a recent upgrade I suspect that the newer kernel module has a bug not present before, or that it is triggering a bug elsewhere which was previously undetected. If you are unable to substitute the network card, you could try installing a lenny kernel; you may of course lose some of the benefits of the newer kernel in the process. -- Liam O'Toole Cork, Ireland -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-user-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
