I recently switched all my partitions except for boot to lvm. (i don't think it's possible to switch boot to lvm?) But i kept my original non lvm partitions. This doesn't take up all that much space since it's basically a base system install.I can always adjust my fstab to mount those partitions if i encounter problems with lvm.
