In order to install packages from the non-free section, just add "non-free" at the end of your sources.list lines. Example for squeeze: deb http://ftp2.de.debian.org/debian/ squeeze main contrib non-free It works exactly the same for older Debian versions. After editing sources.list, just 'apt-get update' (or 'aptitude update', whatever you prefer) and go on installing the package you want.
