so, i'm installing dependencies for drupal on this debian box. it wants php5-gd which has some x windows dependencies. just for the heck of it, i checked imagemagick which has more dependencies. the only thing i can find in the package that might be required by anything is:
/etc/init.d/x11-common /usr/X11R6/bin /usr/bin/X11 so, why is it necessary to have the x windows server to convert images?
