Greetings all

Has anyone else come across this when upgrading testing using Update Manager? I'm using Gnome, but suspect that that doesn't matter too much given this is system-wide rather than DE-specific.

Updates have been backed up for several days now due to some errors with apt and qt4-X11 bugs. apt safe-upgrade produces this error:
Retrieving bug reports... Done
Parsing Found/Fixed information... Done
critical bugs of apt (0.7.25.3 -> 0.8.0) <marked as done in some version>
#595691 - apt-get updates stalls forever if some files on mirror have 0 bytes (Fixed: apt/0.8.2)
 Merged with: 595812
grave bugs of apt (0.7.25.3 -> 0.8.0) <marked as done in some version>
#595428 - apt again lost support for Apt::GPGV::TrustedKeyring (Fixed: apt/0.8.2)
grave bugs of system-config-printer-kde (4:4.4.5-1 -> 4:4.4.5-2) <unfixed>
#596249 - system-config-printer-kde: can't load module in systemsettings
Summary:
apt(2 bugs), system-config-printer-kde(1 bug)
Are you sure you want to install/upgrade the above packages? [Y/n/?/...]
I ran apt-get autoclean and a string of files were deleted, and then I ran aptitude safe-upgrade, and got the same output.

But, using the Update Manager which works with synaptic, the grave bugs error is given as before, and when I enter 'n' to proceeding, the following output pops up:
W: Failed to fetch http://ftp.uk.debian.org/debian/pool/main/q/qt4-x11/libqtgui4_4.6.3-1+b1_i386.deb
 Hash Sum mismatch

W: Failed to fetch http://ftp.uk.debian.org/debian/pool/main/q/qt4-x11/libqt4-xmlpatterns_4.6.3-1+b1_i386.deb
 Hash Sum mismatch
So in addition to the grave bugs in apt there are hash sum errors in qt4-X11 files? How do I sidestep these bugs and try to maintain an otherwise up-to-date system?

Thanks for thoughts.

AG
