Yes, plus the 'force create mode'. The relevant part of my smb.conf is

[winshare]
        comment = xxx
        path = /home/projekte
        valid users = xxx, yyyy
        read only = No
        create mask = 0664
        force create mode = 0660
        directory mask = 0770
        force directory mode = 0770
\==========================
