Openshot is in Squeeze and Sid as native packages now. Of course that doesn't help if you're running Lenny or older. Compiling it is an interesting experience and unlike any other package I tried to build locally. There is a script in the source distribution that will pull in a number of packages and install them and then pull in several source packages, build, and install them. It took a while but in the end it did work on Sid earlier this year. Lenny might be too old for this anyway without a lot of manual work. In the end I was able to do the simple video editing I wanted which I couldn't accomplish with any other package I tried. - Nate >> -- "The optimist proclaims that we live in the best of all possible worlds.
