When using kernel-package, make sure that you install the latest version (12.036). But not in Lenny, only in Squeeze. Since you probably don't want to upgrade libc6, you should build the kernel without CONFIG_LGUEST: under "Virtualization", uncheck "Linux hypervisor example code (NEW)".
