I think I will investigate as you said, wierd, most apps arn't fussy 
on screen size.


even weirder is that when I try to resize it it says 0x0 and grows 
from that (but cannot get smaller).

weirder for sure + woody xcdroast has not implemented multi session 
option (just learning about CDRW but I think this is quite an omission)
