Martin, the same thing happened to me. At the same time, Audacious failed and nothing would make that work either. I get the same error messages you do. Something changed and messed up these two packages. After a while I gave up, thinking it was just me, on two different Lenny systems. Well, at least now I know it's not just me. No, Ron, standard Debian packages. Yes, tried uninstalling/purging/reinstalling. Several times, both systems. No good.
