I am using a grsecurity hardened kernel downloaded from here - http://indiaforcekernel.googlecode.com/files/linux-image-2.6.32.9-grsecindiaforce1.1_1.1_i386.deb
It is patched to provide maximum security but it prevents segment relocation.. An example of this is - r...@indiaforce:~# VirtualBox VirtualBox: Error -610 in supR3HardenedMainInitRuntime! VirtualBox: dlopen("/usr/lib/virtualbox/VBoxRT.so",) failed: /usr/lib/virtualbox/VBoxRT.so: cannot make segment writable for relocation: Permission denied VirtualBox: Tip! It may help to reinstall VirtualBox. I got the above message while trying to execute VirtualBox-OSE. Tried installing VirtualBox from source, and I got Checking for Xmu: found, OK. Checking for Mesa / GLU: /home/harshad/VirtualBox-3.1.4-OSE/debian/.tmp_out: error while loading shared libraries: /usr/lib/libGL.so.1: cannot make segment writable for relocation: Permission denied Is there any practical workaround for this, other then reinstalling other kernel?? -- Harshad Joshi
