Hello! /etc/group in default debain installation contains dozens of groups and I'm wondering: how to determine their purpose? Which package did some specific group came from? What purpose does it serve? It's not very convenient to search info about group XXX in every installed package documentation. And I didn't find corresponding info in Debian Reference either. And even if you know the package group is bound to it's purpose isn't completely clear. For instance: there is an emtpy (no users) ssh group on my Debian Box. It's clear that it's being used by the ssh package. But how? I wonder if I can use it for AllowGroups in /etc/ssh/sshd_config. I mean will interfere with something?
