Could you try:

alias snd-card-0 snd_hda_intel
options snd_hda_intel index=0
options snd_hda_intel model=3stack

instead in /etc/modprobe.d/sound.conf?

Thanks, but, unfortunately, it doesn't work. So, now I have my new Acer One
netbook without audio. I was assured on this list that everything was all
right with it except from wireless.

You might try a Ubuntu live CD, either standard or Netbook Remix, and check what modules etc., it uses. Mine is running the Karmic distribution which certainly has sound, as did the Jackalope before it. A quick glance shows a 2.6.31 kernel and 1.0.20 alsa.
