I get the video playing with portable SMPlayer on a windows box, which 
uses MPlayer as backend :-?

Ugh, that seems an error coming from... Xorg server? Dunno what can be 
cause of this error :-?

Have you tried to load the video with another media player? Just for 
testing purposes...
