What kind of security? Instead of having N applications installed on one host you could move to having 3+ virtual machines. That would suggest you'd need to protect three root passwords, have to worry about performing kernel upgrades on three machines, have to monitor the logs of three machines. I'm sure you get the point. If you're ever doing something "for security" you need to be clear on what problem(s) you're attempting to solve. e.g. Stopping a PHP compromise from reading your super-secret email, or whatever.
