Personaly I use both software. I think VMware has a big plus if you run it on a Server and want manage multiple Virtual Machines from remote places (managing the VMs on the server trough a web-interface has a high coolness factor and makes it easy to observe). This is ideal for specialiced servers like http, mail or gameservers. VB is imho easier to use.
