I always get this same problem, and the sol'n has always been to remove network manager. NM tells your applications whether you are online or off, and for some reason it is almost always completely wrong about it. -- J Joe, You're right. I removed the Network Manager package, (which never seemed to work properly anyway), and Epiphany comes up on-line.
